CASSA Arts Workshop
 
The CASSA Arts Workshop began its new season in September, 2011, under the direction of Ruth Stenstrom, ATR-BC with assistance by GWU Art Therapy Graduate Interns and artists Stewart Morgan and Stephanie Tyler. 
CASSA artists were offered opportunities to join painting/meditation and phototherapy groups, while  continuing  to work on sketchbooks, drawings, paintings, murals, digital photography, sculpture, mixed media projects, music composition, altered books and environmental art (pictured above right).
Participants have attended museum trips and photo shoots at the Capitol, the Corcoran Gallery of Art “30 Artists” exhibit, the Andy Warhol, Miró, Bellows and Impressionist exhibits at the National Gallery of Art, to “The Black List” at the National Portrait Gallery, to “African American Artists” and “The Art of Video Games” at SAAM--the Smithsonian American Art Museum  and to  Ten Years After 9/11 at the Edison Gallery, the Andy Warhol “Shadow Paintings”and “Suprasensorial” exhibits at the Hirshhorn Gallery,  the Hirohige Exhibit at the Sackler, the Museum of African Art and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
